However, when I entered the plex platform to configure it, I got the message 'Unable to find a server, download and install Plex Media Server and it will appear here. I have a dataset where I have put two folders with files for testing and it presents the plex interface, but it does not find the server that should be hosted within the same. You will need access to your Plex server, either locally or remote desktop will work. Log in to Windows, then exit Plex if it’s running. Right-click in the Plex icon in the taskbar and select Exit. It was showing “Server could not Found Download and install Plex.” I thought, may be is Internet Connection Problem but not, and after I created a new Plex account and Login there. It was showing the same thing and I downloaded & install new Plex Setup in my Computer, still was unable to found the Plex Server.
Server Version#: 1.22.3.4392-7000 Player Version#: 4.54.5
I upgraded my DSM from 6 to 7 Beta and upgraded Plex to the latest build for this Beta release. When I launched Plex, it went through the “create new server library” pages, which I followed. Once I finally got into the dashboard, it sees my new (empty) library, but my older library is showing as Unavailable.
From what I can see, none of the database files in Application Support appear to have been modified since the upgrade. I can also see extension metadata in the folders so I’m pretty sure the original library stills exists.
Can't Find Plex Media Server
Any ideas why it’s not seeing my existing library and any suggestions for a fix?
Introduction
This post was originally published on February 22nd, 2018.
I have been having an issue with my Plex server for the last month or so. Every time I tried to use the Plex app on my Amazon Fire TV, it gave me an error telling me the server wasn’t available. To get Plex to work, I had to reboot the server. Additionally, I could no longer access my server settings in Plex. I kept getting “Server settings are unavailable”, as shown above. Clearing the browser cache normally fixes that problem, but it didn’t work. Technology is only great when it works, and when it doesn’t, it can be a real pain to try to fix. Luckily, this is a relatively simple fix. So, if you’re having trouble accessing your Plex server from a client, and a reboot always fixes it, this might be worth a try.
The Solution
I pulled this information from the Plex Forums here if you want to read through the source material.
You will need access to your Plex server, either locally or remote desktop will work. Log in to Windows, then exit Plex if it’s running.

Plex Cannot Connect To Server
Now, navigate to %APPDATA%MicrosoftCryptoRSA. You will see something similar to this screenshot:
Copy and paste %APPDATA%MicrosoftCryptoRSA into Windows Explorer and hit Enter.
Highlight the folder and delete it. If you don’t want to delete it, you can just cut and paste the folder into another folder. Windows will make a new folder with the exact same name, but it will have today’s date (you might have to refresh the window to see it).
Now you can restart Plex.
You should have a fully functional Plex server again (at least if your symptoms matched mine). This procedure was performed over 10 days ago, and I haven’t had to reboot my Plex server since!

Conclusion
Plex Not Finding Server Data
Plex is great software. In five years of using it, this is really the first problem I’ve encountered. After I decided that I was actually going to fix the problem, instead of sticking a band-aid on it by resetting it each time I wanted to use it, it really didn’t take that long to find a solution. Now I’m back to loving the immersive entertainment experience that Plex provides.
